its been 5 years since max passed. i still have a hard time believing it. we all miss him like hell. i miss seeing him play drums. I go to a lot of local shows and I often look at the drummer and imagine its max. its very bittersweet. i miss him a lot. the last time i saw him was at a waterpark, my girl friends were ignoring me and he totally noticed and spent the day with me. it was such a sweet act of kindness.

Having just held a funeral at Krause for a young male in our family last December, we can only say that you will get through this. Even though you might not know how or believe you can, somehow you will. But life will never be the same. It will, however, always be better for having had Max in it. May your love, memories, and faith carry you through as you have the support of the many people who loved Max and love you.

I wanted to express my heartfelt condolences to all of Max's family and friends. For right now there's no detour around grief. No shortcut around mourning. However, please be comforted in knowing that Jehovah hates death; he views it as an enemy. (1 Corinthians 15:26) He has a longing to conquer that enemy, to undo death by means of the resurrection. He yearns to bring back those who are in his memory and to see them live on earth again.—Job 14:14, 15.
