Further survived by grandnieces/nephews Kelly (Dave) Crampton, Matthew Wittig, Lauren Wittig, Natalie (Paul) Polinske, Emily (Randy) Sobczyk, Kate Szymborski (Melissa McLean), Kory Powell-McCoy (Gary), Kandiss Powell plus 4 great-grand-nieces/nephews, along with other relatives and friends. Fr. Marvin will especially be missed by his dear friends, The Rev. Roy and Bonnie Cambronero and their family.
On July 12, 1962, Father began his priestly ministry as an assistant at St. Leonard Parish, Muskego. He was subsequently appointed an assistant at Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish, Milwaukee on April 13, 1963, and at St. Paul Parish, Milwaukee, on November 30, 1965. Father was appointed on June 18, 1968 to serve Messmer High School, Milwaukee, as a faculty member. On June 12, 1973, he was appointed a faculty member for St. Joseph High School in Kenosha. Father was appointed on August 1, 1981, to serve as half-time campus minister at Cardinal Stritch College and half-time faculty member at St. Mary’s Academy, Milwaukee. He was appointed to his first pastorate on April 23, 1985, serving St. Lawrence Parish, Milwaukee; on August 31, 1990, he was appointed pastor at St. Gerard Parish, Milwaukee. Beginning November 1, 1997, Father served as temporary administrator at Holy Trinity Parish, Newburg, and on July 1, 1998, was appointed administrator at St. Therese Parish, Milwaukee. On October 27, 1998, Father began serving as chaplain for the Archdiocese of Milwaukee Cemeteries, continuing in this capacity until his retirement from active ministry on December 31, 2013.
Visitation at Krause Funeral Home, 12401 West National Avenue, New Berlin, Wisconsin, Sunday, March 19, 2017, from 5:00 PM – 7:30 PM. Additional visitation Monday, March 20, 2017 at St. Adalbert, Holy Family Chapel, 3801 South 6th Street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM. Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. The Most Reverend Jerome E. Listecki, Archbishop of Milwaukee officiating. Burial to follow.
