Called home to the Lord on Monday, February 7, 2022 at age 83. Loving husband and best friend of Claudia (nee Cullen) Balkman for 49 years. Proud father of Vince Cullen, Julie (Mike) Dennert and Jamie Balkman. Devoted grandpa of Leah (Heath), Robyn, Ezekiel, Matthew, Mitchel, Mason, and Rachel. Cherished great-grandpa of Emmalee, Allie, Summer and Loki. Dear brother of David (Cheryl) Balkman and Patricia (Mark) Green. Roger will be missed by Beth Veenendaal, nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Margaret Balkman and his grandparents, Jacob and Ruth Jacobson.

Memorial Gathering at Krause Funeral Home 21600 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin on Friday, February 25, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 6:45 PM. Memorial Service at 7:00 PM.

Roger graduated from St. Olaf College where he was active in the choir. He loved music and playing the piano and organ. Roger proudly served in the US Army. Roger was an avid reader and collected many books over the years. He enjoyed working in the yard, a Sunday drive and politics. Roger loved his family and spending time with the grandchildren.
