On Monday, October 4th, 2021, Thomas F. Bartz peacefully passed away at the age of 81.
Tom was born April 17, 1940 in Milwaukee, the son of Edward and Mary (Kovacik).
Tom loved numbers from an early age, which led him to his career in accounting at Evinrude Motors, Clark Oil, and in his later years at Simmons Financial. Close to retirement he worked part time at Kohl’s Food Stores as a cashier. The interactions with customers and co-workers made his job enjoyable. He even co-owned an ice truck as a side hustle for a few years with his brother, Bob.
Family time was his top priority which included annual summer vacations when his kids were young, traveling to Kentucky or simply staying within Wisconsin. One of his favorite places was Wisconsin Dells. Being more adventurous earlier in his life and knowing very little about boating, Tom rented a houseboat on the Mississippi. That one has good stories to go with the fun they had!
Tom embraced the simple things in life like pizza and sweets! He was generous, humble, and loved a good laugh. He enjoyed being creative and volunteered. Some of his favorite hobbies included golfing, fishing, bowling, cookouts, gardening, playing cards and watching the Brewers and Green Bay Packers.
Anyone who knew Tom was touched by his kind heart and joyful soul.
Thomas was preceded in death by his father, Edward and mother Mary, brother, Bob and ex-wife and friend Margaret Roberts. Survived by his children, Tom and Stephanie Bartz, and brother, Edward (Barbara) further survived by many nephews and nieces.
