My heart and prayers go out to my T-Shirley and my cousins Myesha & Rhonda and all the grandchildren as well. I remember my Uncle Walter as this strong rock/ anchor for the Smith family. This foundation will be greatly missed, however he lives in my T Shirley, Rhonda and Myesha. His examples will live on and be shared with all the grandchildren and future generations.
I remember his old school style of keeping us all in check with his firmness and no nonsense personality. He will be missed.

Walter was such a thoughtful and kind man. He would lend a hand, even when not asked. On one occasion, Kevin was trying to mow the lawn with a leg injury and often had to stop to rest. During one of his rest sessions, we all of a sudden hear a mower in the yard and look out to see Walter in his beloved rider mowing our entire lawn. He noticed Kevin struggling and came to lend a hand. This is just one of many times Walter came to our rescue for one thing or another. We love you Walter and will miss you greatly. There are no words to adequately describe how Evg. Christine Mitchell, I and our family feel after learning of Brother Walter’s passing. He was truly one of God’s best! He loved his family and his church and I know he took great pride in serving the church and others.
His physical absence will be hard but I am thankful for the blessing of memories and stories and family that will allow his spiritual presence and legacy to live on in our hearts.
